Dear Colleagues,
It is with deep sadness that we share the news that our dear friend and colleague, Dr. Jesus Vaquero Crespo passed away on April 17, 2020 due to COVID-19. Born in 1950, he studied medicine at Complutense University in Madrid. His training in neurosurgery ensued at the Puerta de Hierro Majadahonda University Hospital, where he served as Chief of Neurosurgery Department for many years thereafter. One of the most eminent Spanish academic neurosurgeons, he was a world leader and pioneer in the treatment of spinal cord injuries and repair. He will be dearly missed by all. Our thoughts are with his family.
