Altus Capital Partners acquires ChoiceSpine
Altus Capital Partners recently announced it has acquired ChoiceSpine. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. ChoiceSpine and Knox Spine work together with physicians to develop new products which incorporate current medical technology with customised patient solutions. ChoiceSpine products include minimally invasive, cervical, thoracolumbar, interbody, lateral, and biologics kits and implants that increase procedural efficiency and efficacy.
FDA approval of Mobi-C Cervical Disc labelling extension to include seven-year clinical results
The FDA has approved an extension to Zimmer Biomet's Mobi-C Cervical Disc labelling to include seven-year clinical results. The data remain consistent with the previous findings at two and five years, namely, that at seven years of follow-up, Mobi-C is statistically non-inferior in terms of overall study success for one-level use and is statistically superior in terms of overall study success for two-level use when compared to ACDF.
85% drop in opioid use after treatment with Superion Decompression System
Additional results from a randomised controlled trial have been published in the Journal of Pain Research, showing an 85% decrease in the proportion of patients who were using opioids five years after being treated with interspinous process decompression (IPD) using the Superion Indirect Decompression System (Vertiflex). The study was conducted under an Investigational Device Exemption with the FDA.
