Urgent call for a neurosurgeon with paediatric experience at the AIC Kijabe Hospital, Kenya

Call for a neurosurgeon with paediatric experience to work in Kenya at AIC Kijabe Hospital (https://kijabehospital.org/).
For over 18 years Kijabe has been the best place in Kenya for surgical care and life long follow up for children with Spinabifida and Hydrocephalus and other neurological conditions.
Initially the care started by a general surgeon who concentrated on those two general diagnoses. Over the last 8 years four excellent Neurosurgeons at different times with a little overlap have broadened the care creating the beginnings of a strong neurosurgery service.

The four great men are now on different assignments. We now find ourselves in a situation where we need a neurosurgeon to grow the program and set up a residency program. We have good equipment, a good theatre and well trained staff. We have a strong referral and follow up system which we have kept going. Housing and a small stipend can be provided and fundraising can be done to meet other budgetary needs. We have a resident who has just started a 5-year residency program in South Africa and who will return to work here and another who will start his training in a year’s time.

Should you are interested in coming to Kenya for at least a year to be part of this great work or have suggestions please refer them to us.

Kind regards,
